Which is the most popular? Reply : In the beginning when sport karate was invented ,it started off with one point scored and second point scored Winner!! Three points came later for time reasons. The sweetness of the pioneers of sport karate was the best would gather at each event and you would see who was the best. Now you have three groups Tae Kwon Do, Traditional Karate and the Open Circuit. Korean Tae Kwon Do is brutal ,kicks to the head ,fast ax kicks and fast spinning kicks,fights are continuous for two minutes,Knock outs allowed, total points, chest protector. Traditional Karate ,fast hard ,linear pure technique,must be able to stop opponent with one blow or kick ,"tameiwashi" sweep or take down a plus.must have follow though and kia!! three points,no rules simply do kata ,do bunkai ,do fighting The Open Circuit are for those who want more than they bargain for. Awards, World Championships everywhere even in Idaho, gifts ,Awards, trophies, points , jackets, stage appearence, road miles , fitness fairs , weapons Awards, many , many, many Hall of Fames, air miles , hours on hours waiting at the airport or train station, going to Mexico and forgetting your passport, weather, $$money$$ , only if there is 10 or more in your division so the the producer doesn't lose money, rules, good standard rules, my rules ,your rules , hell lets just make them up as we go along, Awards, entrance fees, spectator fees, $4.00 hot dogs, and my favorite late fees and no checks or refunds at day of event. The producer gets $20.00 a minute for you to fight,you fight for two mintues ,you lose or win $40.00 entry fee, you win you go on and fight some more, no matter what happens you will never go to jail for fighting as you would in a street brawl and you get to do it many times until you lose, cool !!! and there is a small chance you will win money and / or become a famous karate fighter of fortune and fame. It is a toss up for most popular. Olympic Tae Kwon Do is awesome ,just for the Gold Medaland the traveling all over the World, but the Open Circuit with a major event every weekend, Superstars,TV Media,Internet, Money {finally},and Magazine coverage ,Sport Karate is kicking butt.
